WNC Feedstock Depot - Carolina Land & Lakes RC&D
Our proposed project will provide the feasibility study of the Western North Carolina (WNC) Feedstock Depot. The purpose of the depot will be to create value by organizing the contracting, logistics, surge storage, shredding, and mixing of multiple biomass feedstock streams to meet customer contract specifications and to be delivered using a variety of transportation paths. Detailed analysis of feedstocks being used in industries within Western NC, pricing of feedstock, transportation costs, and processing logistics will be determined to provide capital and operational costs of the WNC Feedstock Depot. The goal of the project will be to enhance Western North Carolina’s potential to produce and supply adequate feedstock for large scale production of bioenergy. The goal of this project is to demonstrate that North Carolina is a great place to supply feedstock and produce biofuel and bioenergy.
